What are the system requirements for running the software?
  • Microsoft Windows version Vista, XP, or 2000
  • Processor and RAM appropriate for version of Windows being used
  • 80 MB free hard drive space (always maintain at least 10% free hard drive space)
  • SVGA Monitor operating in at least: 1024 x 768 display mode with 16-bit color
  • Windows-compatible printer (color printer recommended)

How often is the Back Room Technician — Sales Edition updated?
BRT/SE is updated frequently to assure that you always have access to the most current, accurate information, like tax law changes, new tax and Social Security indices, and new subject matter reports. And you control how often these updates are downloaded to your computer, either automatically each day the Advisys software is started, or when you select to update.



How do I determine which version of Advisys software I have installed?
Once the program is started, select "Help" from the menu bar and then select "About Advisys, Inc." for version information.



Do you offer discounts for purchasing multiple subscriptions?

What resources are available to help me learn to use the software most effectively?
  • Our online training videos, located at the Advisys Learning Center on this website, are a key resource for gaining understanding and effectiveness with BRT/SE.
  • BRT/SE also contains a very comprehensive Help system in the software. Click on "Help" then on "Content" to explore detailed product feature information and a user tutorial.
  • Pressing the "F1" key when viewing any of the calculator reports input screens opens a context-sensitive explanation on what is needed for that input screen.

Can I operate the software from my network server?
Advisys products are designed to interface with Windows. As long as your system is configured correctly to access your network, the Advisys software should work properly when installed to the local hard disk drive or when accessing a folder on a mapped network drive.



Does the software meet regulatory compliance guidelines?
Advisys software content has been, and continues to be, submitted to key regulatory organizations, such as the FINRA (formerly known as the NASD) and NAIC, and has been deemed to meet requirements for sales literature and product illustrations.



Can I share the Advisys software with others?
Advisys products are made available as single-user, subscription software, which prohibits sharing the software with others. The Software Subscription Agreement-Individual License, found in the "Help" system in the software, states, "This License limits use of the Program and its reports strictly to the Subscriber."
